When it comes to fully packed pre workouts, Gorilla Mode takes the cake.Â
Gorilla Mode has one of the biggest servings we've seen in a pre workout.Â
And this is one of the few formulas that has 9g citrulline per serving.Â
Along with proper doses of ergogenic aids, it also has 350mg caffeine, and 350mg eria jarensis, for improved mood and focus.Â
While this is a great formula, you can check out the strongest pre workouts here.Â
Finding pre workouts with full doses of ergogenic aids and stimulants is rare.Â
But Gorilla Mind seems to have built something that stands above the crowd.
It's created by More Plates More Dates (MPMD) and Gorilla Mind.
The founder of Gorilla Mind, Mike Cernovich, teamed up with Derek from MPMD to create something of beast of a pre workout.Â
And they've done it successfully as Gorilla Mode is their best selling supplement as of today.Â
In this article, we'll be covering the ingredients, dosages and effectiveness.Â
Gorilla Mode was made with the goal for incredible focus, energy, and pumps while also increasing endurance and performance.Â
Increasing pumps means more blood flow, which is good for nutrient delivery and will improve overall physical performance.Â
It also helps with energy levels, increases muscle strength and it'll help you break PRs with full dosages of ergogenic aids.Â
Both MPMD and Gorilla Mind teamed up to create this beast of a pre workout with full dosages of clinically proven ingredients to help maximize gains.Â
While Gorilla Mode is a great per workout, there's always an comparable alternative.Â
There's two pre workouts that we think are great choices over Gorilla Mode.
Here they are:
Containing over 22g per serving, Bulk contains full doses of ergogenic aids and a range of nootropics as well as stimulants to help enhance energy.

Wrecked is one of the few pre-workouts with 8g of pure citrulline and it packs over 30g of ingredients per serving.
Gorilla Mode is one of the few pre workouts that have an effective formula with proper dosages.
It uses ingredients to help increase energy, focus and pumps, and that it does well.
After about 45 minutes, the energy peaked for me and I was ready to go and lift.
I trained with a high intensity, that was sustained for the complete hour and a half that I was in the gym for.
The pumps were nasty as well, lasting for hours after the workout was complete.
I guess this was from the GlycerPump as this can help the body retain more water and stay hydrated.
I was also able to grind out more reps than normal, and I was very tuned into my workout.
The 350mg caffeine and eria jarensis was just perfect for me, nothing was out of control or jittery.
The best flavors by far is Bombsicle and Firefly lemonade.
Bombsicle especially was really, really good.
Gorilla Mode has gone all out with their formula.Â
The ingredients have huge dosages, with 30g per scoop at full serving.
You'll likely be putting this to good use if you're serious about training and have a good program.
The reason for this is because everything is dosed properly, for full effectiveness, and there isn't a single ingredient that has no purpose.Â
We'll dive into every ingredient and what the benefits are...
Citrulline is a popular ingredient that's used to reduce fatigue and increase endurance.Â
It's main highlight is it's ability to increase nitric oxide levels and vasodilation, helping nutrients get to where they need to go.Â
And at 9g, this is one of the biggest dosages we've seen in pre workouts.Â
Very few pre workouts have more than 6g pure citrulline, like Pre Kaged and Pump Serum both at least 8g.
When it comes to increasing blood flow, citrulline is one of the most effective ingredients to do this. [1]
It'll allow you to workout harder, longer and sustain high intensity while exercising regularly as it can help with recovery as well.Â
With 9g, you're getting the upper end of dosing. [2, 3]
It'll help with strength and endurance, you'll be able to make more muscle gains.
The way citrulline does this is by increasing nitric oxide levels, which can result in more vasodilation where vessels relax and widen, improving blood flow.Â
With more blood flow, you'll get more pumps and better nutrient delivery.Â
And of course the dose should be higher than 3g, but Gorilla Mode here has 9g of pure citrulline here.Â
If you were to get this from watermelon, you would need to eat at least 10 pounds of watermelon, depending on the quality. [4]
One of the best ingredients for muscle and strength is well known and accepted by the industry to be creatine monohydrate.Â
Studies have shown time and time again how effective this ingredient can be. [5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11]
Creatine is known to help with intense exercise as it can increase phosphocreatine stores in the body, which leads to more ATP production.Â
Using 5g for over 2 weeks can increase creatine stores and thus this can help with muscle size and strength.Â
Generally, it's better to use this as a bulk supplement because you need to use it daily in order to properly saturate your body with it.Â
GlycerPump is a stable form of glycerol powder, providing 65% glycerol content.Â
The way this is done is through silicon dioxide, which is done by spray drying.
Spray drying allows for much higher glycerol content without clumping, making it a perfect addition to pre workouts.Â
Clumping was a big issue in regular glycerol monostearate and GlycerPump fixes this.Â
Glycerol is a natural sugar alcohol that is involved in the body when breaking down fats and carbohydrates.Â
When it's combined with water, it can enhance fluid retention and leads to much more water being held into your muscles. [12]
This can lead to a state of hyperhydration which can help with endurance and overall performance in the gym.Â
In fact, research has found glycerol can increase endurance by as much as 24%. [12]
There's a big 3g dose here, which is a little higher than what most pre workouts would have.
Malic acid plays an important role in the Krebs cycle, which supports energy production.Â
Without malic acid, you risk deficiency and you may experience fatigue much quicker in training.Â
Gorilla Mind has gone with pure citrulline, and pure malic acid.Â
Most companies would go with citrulline malate.Â
Another reason why companies may use malic acid is for the flavoring.Â
Betaine anhydrous is similar to creatine in that it can help with hydration and water retention.Â
The reason for this is because it's a osmolyte, an ingredient that can help with endurance, and stamina.Â
Betaine can convert homocysteine to methionine, a precursor to creatine.Â
For workout benefits, betaine can increase power and strength, which works well when combined with creatine as it can increase creatine production. [13, 14, 15]
We have a full clinical dose here at 2.5g.Â
Tyrosine is important when it comes to increasing energy and focus.Â
The reason for this is because it can boost the production of neurotransmitters like dopamine and norepinephrine. [16]
By using stimulants, such as caffeine, you'll be releasing more of these neurotransmitters, but tyrosine can help by producing more of them.Â
These neurotransmitters play a role in the "flight or fight" mode that you may get from taking stimulants.
Tyrosine will help maximize energy and focus by maximizing the production of dopamine and norepinephrine.Â
And it also has benefits for improved cognitive function, particularly when you're experiencing lots of stress and anxiety.Â
Most pre workouts will dose this at less than a gram, but Gorilla Mind has gone with a big 1.5g dose here.Â
Agmatine is one of the best nitric oxide boosters to combine with citrulline.Â
And here it's dosed at 1g, which is more than enough for it's benefits.Â
While citrulline can increase arginine levels in the blood, agmatine can prevent those levels dropping.Â
The reason for this is because agmatine is a metabolite of arginine and arginine works as a arginase inhibitor. [17]
Allowing for arginine to flow freely without being broken down means longer lasting pumps.
Agmatine can defend nitric oxide levels from dropping, and it also stimulates the synthase production. [18]
There's also mental benefits as agmatine can provide an uplifting effect on mood. [19]
Gorilla Mind has put together a nice formula not only for energy but also for pumps and strengthening the mind to muscle connection.Â
It has a full 1 gram dose, on top of 3g GlycerPump, 9g citrulline and 2.5g betaine anhydrous.Â
Kanna is a herb with lots of interesting history.
This is Sceletium Tortuosum, or Kanna, functions as a phosphodiesterase-4 inhibitor. [20]
Cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) builds up in cells when phosphodiesterase are blocked.
The increase in cAMP is due to Kanna as it's one of it's benefits.Â
Kanna can also enhance mood, reduce chronic stress, and allow you to fall asleep after Gorilla Mode wears off. [20, 21]
Although Kanna has it's own range of benefits for mood, there's also eria jarensis in here.Â
Kanna alone will provide some amazing for mood, but combined with eria jarensis and agmatine, you'll have some really nice mood uplift for the day.Â
Caffeine is widely used in pre workouts and the science is there for what it can do.Â
From increasing alertness to enhancing workout performance while reducing body fat, it is inevitable to find in a stimulant pre workout.
Although you can always find stimulant free pre workouts, caffeine will always be a stimulant in regular pre workouts. [22, 23]
Gorilla Mind has gone with a solid 350mg dose here, without any other form of caffeine.Â
This dose is more than enough to provide energy for a few hours at a time, especially considering the other ingredients here that will help work in synergy with caffeine.Â
Gorilla Mode is very strong and it shouldn't be mistaken as a beginner pre workout.
For that feel good energy, eria jarensis here is included at a big 350mg dose.Â
Gorilla Mode is one of the few pre workouts that has more than 300mg eria jarensis.Â
One of the highest we've seen is in Flame, but here we have more than enough at 350mg.Â
Regular PEA can feel good and it has some nice drive for increasing motivation.
But eria jarensis lasts longer and hits much harder, lasting in a long euphoric uplift in mood for a few hours at a time.Â
BioPerine is a frequently used ingredient in supplements to enhance the bioavailability of the ingredients that it's taken with.Â
It works by inhibiting stomach acids that break down ingredients in supplements.
BioPerine can also upregulate GLUT4, which can shuttle glucose into the cell, meaning more carbs will be stored into muscle and not your fat cells. [24, 25]
It can also help with fat loss as it can enhance metabolism. [26]
Huperzine A is a fantastic nootropic that helps prevent the breakdown of acetylcholine.Â
When it's combined with other acetylcholine sources, it works in synergy to provide all day focus and mental enhancement.Â
However there isn't a acetylcholine ingredient in here, instead you'll have to get it from your diet, like from eggs.
It looks like Gorilla Mind has put a lot of effort into the flavoring as they have many to choose from.Â
Here's all the flavors they have:
So if you want something really good tasting, go for Bombsicle or Firefly lemonade.Â
These two flavors are really popular.Â
Gorilla Mind has put together a formula that is unlike the majority of pre workouts.Â
It uses efficient ingredients that are generously dosed without compromising quality or sources.Â
Pumps, energy and focus, Gorilla Mode is a well made pre workout.Â
If you're looking for other pre workouts that are stronger, then check out this list.Â
You can also stack any pre workout with any nitric oxide supplement found here.Â
