I received this as part of the pre-order with merch. Ready to take after a full day of rest, a friend on Reddit had just messaged me right as I was about to partake, wondering how it was going. Not wanting to keep him waiting, I got my butt out of bed and high-tailed it to my shaker.
The drink went down smooth, nice and light with a great flavor.
Within 5 minutes, I felt the head buzz kicking in, along with some medium-level beta tingles. The betas themselves ended up lasting well over an hour.
After 15 minutes had passed, I could feel a full-on head buzz coming over me. I came into this pre expecting something along the lines of Edge of Insanity or Psychotic SAW and very much not disappointed. The focus was intense and, before I knew it, an hour had passed with the betas still hanging in there. At certain points, I could feel my heart jumping into my throat. The Alpha-yo was strong with this one!
It was at about the hour mark, I really started sweating as if this were a fat burner. I believe that this combined with synephrine would make a great fat burner indeed, to be honest! My fitness watch even logged more calories burned than a usual session (I don't actually believe this per se, but use it more as a benchmark for progress!).
At about 1.5 to 2 hours, I thought I felt the head buzz tapering off. I even had an extra half scoop ready to go just in case, but alas, I did not need this. Once I started my heavy lifts on the last part of my session, the sweats and focus kicked right back in. The rest of the session flowed by with just as much focus as the first part. I was even deloading a smidgeon and slowing my reps down due to a sore shoulder, but this didn't seem to affect the overall session, progress-wise.
Some of the ingredients in here were new to me, but I could identify them as being for pumps, but I did not get anything outstanding in this regard. Just decent.
Also, in general I avoid Rhodiola Rosea due to have lackluster lifts on a previous preworkout, but this did not seem to have any negative effect. It may have even contributed to its success.
At the listed price point ($70 regular price on Insane Labz), this may not be worth it, especially because similar daily hitters are so much lower. However, IL always has discounted items and great bundled merch! Overall, this was a success and I can't wait to play a little mad scientist with some extra ingredients!
Pros
-Great, light flavor
-Excellent focus
-Some mood elevation.
-Lasting beta tingles (if you like that!)
-Not so many yohimbine side-effects
-Great energy
-Sense of urgency
Cons
-Initial price point
-Lacking significant pumps IMO

Insane Labz always has great deals, and despite having proprietary blend labels, they usually hit pretty well.
However, when Psycho Sam premiered at $25 off the bat and still contained very similar ingredients to the rest of their product, I was a a little suspicious to say the least.
The one downside I see most often in Insane Labz products is their poor flavoring, but this one surprised me. The Fruit Punch tasted great and went down smooth.
I took this on a deload/low-stim week on a single scoop, so the results may vary at full blast. Beta Alanine is at the top of the prop-blend lists and this hits you after about 10 minutes and it seemed to stay for at least an hour (surprising!).
I could feel the Yohimbine/Alpha-Yohimbine kick in shortly after that. It was nothing overpowering, but still delivered the goods. I had some tunnel-like focus, which I usually notice if I lost track of time and stop watching the hands on the clock.
Mood and Energy fell right in there with Focus, not too much but enough to notice. Pumps also were present, but nothing to write home about. Not much in regards to a leftover Yo-yo buzz.
This seems like it might be stackable with another stim to give it an extra boost. I would even be comfortable double-scooping this.
Altogether, this seemed to hit a sweet spot for the price. Not too hot and not too cold. A great entry-level pre for someone wanting to dip their toes into the yohimbine pool, but also enough to potentially use as a daily driver for a regular lifter.
