The main comparison is original Pre JYM against regular BULK—not Pre JYM X against BULK BLACK. Those higher-stimulant alternatives have their own section below.
This is a comparison of the named manufacturer labels, not a new head-to-head workout test. Check your tub when buying another flavor or an older formula.
Label note: One labeled serving of each. BULK: Blue Raspberry. Pre JYM: Blueberry Pineapple. “Not listed” means absent from these panels.
BULK’s 4 g beta-alanine serving is twice Pre JYM’s 2 g. But beta-alanine works through consistent use over time. Stronger tingling is not a better-workout score.
Creatine inclusion is useful only in context. Someone already taking a separate creatine product may prefer keeping it separate. Someone who values fewer separate supplements may prefer having it included. A 2 g creatine-HCl entry should not be presented as an established equivalent to 5 g creatine monohydrate.
Pre JYM also includes 6 g BCAAs. That does not establish a muscle-growth advantage over BULK, especially when your overall protein intake is already adequate.
BULK lists 8 g citrulline malate at a 2:1 ratio. Original Pre JYM lists 6 g citrulline malate, but the reference panel does not establish its ratio. Neither entry means that amount of pure L-citrulline.
Assuming BULK’s 2:1 ratio describes ingredient masses, its 8 g entry works out to roughly 5.33 g citrulline and 2.67 g malate. That is label arithmetic, not a lab test.
BULK also lists 200 mg theanine and 50 mg theobromine. Those additional ingredients do not guarantee a jitter-free or crash-free experience. Your response still matters.
Count coffee, energy drinks and other caffeinated products. Sleep disruption, anxiety or palpitations are reasons to reconsider the stimulant load—not reasons to keep increasing it.
The Pre JYM X reference is Dragonberry V1.2, dated June 7, 2023. Treat it as a historical label, not a promise about every X tub sold now. Pre JYM Plus is another separate product.
X lists a 3 g betaine blend plus a separately listed 1 g betaine nitrate. That must not become “4 g pure betaine.” It also includes 4 g creatine HCl and 2 g citrulline nitrate.
BULK BLACK lists 325 mg caffeine and 200 mcg huperzine A, without creatine. Its 300 mg AlphaSize entry is a 50% Alpha-GPC ingredient—not 300 mg pure Alpha-GPC or 300 mg choline.
Keep the X/BLACK decision separate from the original Pre JYM/BULK decision. Otherwise the same product name ends up carrying facts from two different formulas.
For the secondary comparison, the historical X panel has 20 servings and BLACK has 30. Equal tub prices would not mean equal cost per serving.
Use the price you can actually pay for the correct product. A first-order offer or subscription price is not automatically available on an ordinary repeat purchase.
Follow the directions on your exact tub and measure its labeled serving. JYM’s current product-page directions say to assess tolerance with half a serving or less and not exceed one serving.
Do not stack these two pre-workouts. Add up caffeine from the rest of your day, and avoid treating a high-stimulant serving as a routine fix for inadequate sleep. Seek individual medical advice when medications, pregnancy or a health condition make stimulant use uncertain.
BULK makes more sense when you want less caffeine and prefer choosing creatine separately. Original Pre JYM makes more sense when you deliberately want its higher-caffeine, creatine-containing package.
Choose the formula that fits what you already take. Paying for ingredients you do not need is not better value, and buying more stimulation is not the same as buying better training.
