Bottom Line

With most strong pre-workouts containing exotic stims, Cannibal Ferox somehow makes a very potent formula without using DMAA or DMHA.

Cannibal Ferox is a big 15.3g scooper pre-workout with a simple formula that has big doses.

It also has various stimulants to increase urgency and motivation without causing jitters or anxiety.

This is a great pick if you're looking for something that is very strong but without the gray area stimulants.

Chaos and Pain come off as a brand that makes potent supplements.

And it seems to be true.

From their potent natural anabolics to their pre-workouts and nootropics, their supplements are made with effective ingredients at big dosages.

They hooked us up with Cannibal Ferox to review.

This is a pre-workout with a big 450mg dose of caffeine along with ingredients that aren't normally used like mucuna pruriens and theophylline.

Who Is Chaos and Pain?

Chaos and Pain seem to be a company that has popped out of nowhere but truthfully they've been around for at least a decade now.

They grew in popularity when they shared their uncensored and uncut views on bodybuilding and supplements.

Now they continue with the same mindset but they let their supplement formulas do the talking.

One of the best sellers that they have is Hypnos, a strong sleep aid that can knock you out for a good night's rest.

They also have Cannibal Riot, another pre-workout with different ingredients that contains more thermogenic and mood-enhancing energy.

My Experience with Cannibal Ferox

If there's one thing that doesn't seem to change is that I'm sensitive to stimulants.

That being said, I have been taking pre-workouts that contain exotic stimulants several times in a month, almost every day.

And some of them still hit as hard as the first time I took them.

I still build tolerance so when I take something that has considerably fewer stimulants, I can really notice the difference.

Cannibal Ferox is unique.

One look and you'd think this is something with DMAA or at least DMHA and eria jarensis.

But instead, it only has caffeine and a few unique stimulants that aren't really seen in pre-workouts.

Compared to what I consider to be the strongest pre-workouts, this is actually able to keep up but it doesn't quite outperform them.

Cannibal Ferox kicks in fully about half an hour after drinking it on an empty stomach and surprisingly the energy was much more than I expected from this kind of formula.

The caffeine dose on its own without anything else would be quite strong, but this also contains yohimbine, another form of caffeine, and mucuna pruriens.

Personally, I like how it doesn't have exotic stims because those stims can be too much to take on a regular basis.

The energy here from Ferox is comparable to Huge Supplements Wrecked and is much stronger than Transparent Labs Bulk.

It doesn't go overboard but at the same time, there's quite a bit of urgency and an increase in motivation from this pre-workout.

Cannibal Ferox easily makes to be one of the strongest pre-workouts without relying on the exotic stims.

Cannibal Ferox Ingredients

You'll notice a few interesting things about the ingredients in Cannibal Ferox.

It starts off with your average dose of citrulline malate but then starts getting interesting with a full clinical dose of beta alanine and betaine anhydrous.

It's followed up by 4 stimulants that will hit hard, creating a very strong urgent-type of energy along with focus.

Let's dig into the ingredients below...

L-Citrulline Malate (6g)

Citrulline malate is a non-essential amino acid that is almost always in every pre-workout.

There are good reasons for this.

It's one of the best nitric oxide boosters known. [1]

This ingredient can expand blood vessels and enhance vasodilation by increasing nitric oxide levels.

By doing this, citrulline can increase the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to much-needed muscles. [2]

It can also reduce fatigue, and increase power, and endurance.

Citrulline can also reduce soreness after exercise by up to 40%. [3]

The dose here is minimal with citrulline malate containing around 55% citrulline, so that means you're getting around 3g of pure citrulline. [4]

The clinical validated dose is 3 grams so there's enough to see benefits at least!

Beta-Alanine (3.2g)

When you drink a pre-workout and you feel the tingles, it's most likely from beta-alanine.

Beta-alanine can increase carnosine, which is a useful enzyme because it can reduce the lactic acid build-up that occurs from high rep sets. [5]

When this happens, you'll get more endurance and it's been proven in many studies. [6, 7]

Although you'll feel the tingles if you're not saturated with beta-alanine, it's a harmless sensation and beta-alanine can be safely consumed. [8]

Betaine Anhydrous (2.5g)

Speaking of pre workout staples, betaine anhydrous has found itself in almost every formula.

Betaine is similar to creatine in that it can increase power and strength while reducing fatigue. [9]

It's an osmolyte so it has some effects and benefits on nitric oxide.

L-Tyrosine (750mg)

If you're going to have stimulants, then you'll need something to ensure a steady production of feel-good neurotransmitters.

Tyrosine can fuel the production of dopamine, epinephrine and norepinephrine.

Caffeine Anhydrous (450mg)

There can't be a stim-based pre-workout without caffeine.

At least not yet.

Caffeine is the grandfather of all stimulants as it provides a solid energy foundation and a wide range of benefits.

It can block the brain's receptors of adenosine and phosphodiesterase, and by doing this it will increase brain activity and reduce fatigue. [10]

Caffeine can also reduce fat by increasing the body's metabolism and promoting fat to be used as energy. [11, 12, 13]

Mucuna Pruriens (150mg)

Mucuna pruriens has quite a history behind it with South America, the Caribbean, India, and Africa.

Traditionally it's used as a medicine as it has strong antioxidant effects. [14]

But the reason why it's in Cannibal Ferox is for its effects on dopamine.

Mucuna pruriens contains levodopa, or L-dopa, which is a precursor to dopamine that can cross the blood-brain barrier and increase dopamine levels. [15]

More dopamine means more motivation and improved cognitive function. [16]

Theophylline Anhydrous (50mg)

Similar to caffeine, theophylline is a methylxanthine.

It can inhibit phosphodiesterase and adenosine production. [17, 18]

The interesting thing about theophylline is that it's a natural metabolite of caffeine with a longer half-life. [19]

Similar to malate, it can last longer so pairing this with regular fast-acting caffeine anhydrous will strategically provide energy while sustaining it for longer.

Yohimbine HCL (3mg)

Yohimbine has plenty of benefits, from appetite suppression, fat loss and even enhancing cognitive function. [20, 21]

This extract is from the Rauwolfia plant but it's standardized for yohimbine.

Yohimbine is an alpha-2 antagonist that can help with fat burning and focus. [22]

Alpha Yohimbine (2mg)

Alpha yohimbine, like regular yohimbine, comes from the rauwolfia plant.

It's considered to be a more potent form of yohimbine but some people don't like it because it can increase anxiety and jitters.

Some people don't react like this to it at all, but it's mainly here because it can increase energy and fat loss. [23]

Huperzine (200mcg)

Huperzine A can naturally prolong focus and concentration by inhibiting acetylcholinesterase.

Huperzine A has incredible benefits for the brain, and it's even considered to be anti-inflammatory, neuroprotective, and has antiepileptic potential. [24]

Not only can it improve learning capability but it can improve cognitive function as well. [25]

You can't have a pre-workout like Cannibal Ferox promoting focus without something like huperzine A.

Cannibal Ferox: A Face Melting Experience without the Exotic Stims

Cannibal Ferox may look like a simple formula but it shouldn't be underestimated.

This is a pre-workout with 5 different stimulants that attack energy from various angles.

It also helps with mood, motivation and cognitive function so you'll be rocking your workouts without needing something like exotic stims to power yourself through the tough days.
