Bottom Line

Update (23/12/21): ABL Pharma is preventing the sale of Phenta online. This means you soon will only be able to order this from local stores. The stock you see now is what is available, and when it's gone, it's gone for good, at least from the online stores.

Since Excelsior has been hard to find, there's been a never ending search for alternatives.

That one pre workout is Phenta Plex.

This pre workout is made by a company that we've never seen before.

But Phenta Plex is the answer that many are looking for.

Not only is this pre workout half the price of Excelsior, but it possibly also feels much cleaner.

Without the crashes or "dirty feeling", it's a very consistent pre workout.

Alternatively, you can get it from this store.

The lowest price can be found here ($39.99 as of today, use discount code FITFREK to get it down even further): cheapest Phenta Plex.

Update (23/12/21): Phenta is no longer restocking for online sale. If you want to try this pre workout, try it before you can only buy it from local stores. ABL Pharma is preventing online stores from ordering more. Once it's gone, it's gone for good, at least from the online market.

I've had Blue Raspberry, Fruit Punch (2), Sour Candy(1 out of 2) and Strawberry Lemonade which all provided my original experience.

I've used and tried 6 bottles so far (out of six), but one of the Sour Candy bottles seemed to not provide the original experience.

Back to my review...

When it comes to energy, nothing compares than what a pre workout can provide.

Although there's never really a shortage of strong pre workouts...

Sometimes we look for that "special pre workout".

We're talking about energy and focus from the above and beyond.

And exotic stimulants just isn't enough sometimes.

Excelsior was that answer for a while, but it's been out of stock for a while now.

Unless you want to spend over $500 for a bottle off eBay, we may have found the next best thing for you.

Enter Phenta Plex.

This pre workout has a strange label, but it makes it more likely to have something special that other pre workouts don't.

I've tried it and you can watch my review here.

Let's dig into the experiences and reviews below...

Phenta Plex: My Review

As you know, I've been very excited to try Phenta Plex.

When I heard this might be the next best thing to Excelsior, I ordered 3 right away.

I also made a YouTube video review, you can watch that here.

Since I live outside the U.S., and customs have become an issue for importing supplements, I used eBay to get Phenta Plex.

I found a seller using the global shipping program, which gives me the final costs, including custom and shipping fees.

In total, I paid 136$ for 3, which comes out to $45 each.

The total price probably increased a few dollars since the seller noticed the sudden increase in demand.

But still, if you're outside the U.S., consider getting it from eBay for cheap until your country imports it in.

If you live in the U.S. or don't have issues with importing supplements...

Then NutriCartel and Nutritionalsupplementshop are both the best sources (discount code FITFREK).

So my review...

Like Excelsior, I took Phenta Plex first thing in the morning, in a fasted state.

I waited about 3 hours, which is normal for me since I do both, work and workout at home so I tend to getting too focused into work to stop.

Regardless, the effects were incredibly strong by the time I started working out.

I took one scoop total, with a little extra shortly after.

I knew a full scoop is at least 12 grams but I tried half a scoop and it wasn't as good as a full scoop.

Anyone who knows their scoops can tell right away the scoop is way bigger than the serving size of 6.9g.

Here's what I experienced with Phenta Plex:

  • Ultra clean energy. I mean VERY clean energy. There was no heart racing but I felt like I could do so much.
  • Easy to breathe: this part reminded me of the original Craze back in 2010. I felt much lighter and had "limitless endurance" and there was never a time when I had to stop to catch my breath (unlike Excelsior).
  • Doesn't suppress appetite at all: with Excelsior I would feel sick just by the thought of food or seeing other people eat. But I had zero nausea with Plex.
  • No euphoria. I would rather not feel a roller coaster of emotions. My mood has been consistent all day. No mood swings. Excelsior had me feeling very sad after ending use, even in the same day. No crash either.

Here's what I don't like about Phenta Plex:

  • There's no way this is powered by just caffeine, DMHA and synephrine. If there's something missing from the label, I don't know.

Conclusion?

This is it.

This is what I wish Excelsior was. This is what we should've had instead.

Excelsior made me zone out, it made me depressed at times.

But Phenta Plex is the ultra clean energy type of pre workout that delivers it better although there might be some secret sauce to it.

Would I recommend this? If you're looking for something much cheaper than Excelsior, yes.

Keep in mind, this is my first day using it.

I don't know the short term effects, but I have not felt any sort of crash since 6 hours of drinking it, which would happen by now with Excelsior.

Phenta Plex: The Best Excelsior Replacement?

Here's what others have said about Phenta Plex so far..

TJ over at FitnessDealNews hyped this up and he was the first to bring up Plex as a potential Excelsior replacement.

Here's FitnessDealNews review video on Phenta Plex:

To sum up what FitnessDealNews has experienced with Phenta Plex...

Well he finds no matter what time he takes it at, after a full scoop, he can't sleep well at night.

After about 7 times of use, he find the same tunnel vision focus and strong energy that he got from the first serving.

Now keep in mind, a full scoop is measured out to be 12 point something grams, which is double the serving of Phenta Plex, as each serving is 6.9g.

At 12 grams, you would be getting 800mg of caffeine, but TJ at FitnessDealNews says he knows what caffeine feels like, the energy and focus he's getting from Phenta Plex isn't just from caffeine.

And even if he truly was just getting 800mg of caffeine, he would experience some crash eventually.

However, he find even after 12 hours, he still has a steady flow of energy and tunnel vision focus.

And TJ isn't the only one to experience 10+ hours of effects.

Let's jump to another video by BuffSquirrel:

BuffSquirrel shared his review in the video above.

At some point in the video, he points out that he's tried Assassin v7, which only lasted 3-4 hours for him.

But with Phenta Plex, he felt the energy for more than 10 hours.

He takes pre workouts for hard labor-based jobs, but not for workouts because he said he doesn't need to be hyped to workout with pre workouts.

He needs the artificial energy for his long days of work.

BuffSquirrel has made Phenta Plex his #2 pre workout, with Wrecked Extreme being his #1.

Of course tunnel vision isn't what makes a pre workout great, so it's all personal preference.

Some people won't like Excelsior because it doesn't have a crash and it makes eating really difficult.

If these reviews aren't enough, check out what people say:

This experience reminds me a bit of the original Craze, but honestly so far it sounds a little cleaner than Excelsior.

Could this be an improved version of Excelsior?

Look at this next review...

This seems to confirm that Phenta Plex is more than just caffeine and DMHA.

The label isn't disclosing every ingredient and if you're in for a Excelsior replacement, this might be it.

Just proceed with caution and don't take this more than once a week or even once a month to be safe.

Conclusion of Reviews: Consistent Energy and Focus

If there's one thing that me, TJ FitnessDealNews and BuffSquirrel both seem to agree on is that Phenta Plex lasts a long time with consistent energy and focus.

But of course not everyone agrees with this.

I've looked over the comments on TJ's video and it seems there are already people who have shared their experiences.

One agreed that there is some tunnel vision, but he experienced more side effects than anything else like nausea and headaches.

While another said he didn't feel anything positive from it.

But this could be because of the inconsistent dosing.

One full scoop of Phenta Plex is more than 12 grams, which is twice the recommended serving of 6.9g.

While TJ has confirmed to take a full scoop, others have said they've taken half servings and did not experience anything positive.

There's only one way to find out for sure if this is worthy of being an Excelsior replacement and that's by trying it.

Overall Phenta Plex is a very strong but clean pre workout without the anxiety or jitters.

Also this is much cheaper than Excelsior.

Remember to measure your scoops and not to take more than the recommended serving as that will be giving you 800mg caffeine.

Where To Get Phenta Plex: Best Prices

Although Phenta Plex is relatively easy to find and the prices are fair, we've spent time looking for the best options.

And of course you can use discount code FitFrek for any of these stores for 15% off:

Here's where you can get it:

I wouldn't be surprised if these stores went out of stock within a few days.

So if you're considering trying Phenta Plex, I would jump on it before the demand forces the price to jump sky high.

Phenta Plex Ingredients

One quick glance at this pre workout you'd probably think it's a waste of space on supplement shelves.

And if we didn't hear about it we wouldn't give this a second look.

But because it's getting hyped up as a Excelsior alternative, it's caught our attention.

It has a proprietary blend, but that dosage for the entire blend is just too small to notice anything from it.

If anything it is probably a distraction in the formula.

Caffeine (400mg)

Caffeine is the grandfather of energy in pre workouts.

The dosage here is at 400mg but there seems to be some doubt behind these dosages.

TJ has taken a full scoop, which adds up to 800mg but he says he knows how caffeine feels like and he doesn't think the energy is coming from 800mg caffeine.

If anyone takes a full scoop, that's more 200mg more than what we've seen in pre workouts like Assassin and Double Impact.

And after some hours, there would at the very least be some crash but there doesn't seem to be one, even after 10-14 hours.

Caffeine traditionally helps increase alertness and wakefulness.

Usually this is dosed anywhere between 300-400mg, with some pre workouts going as high as 600mg.

At 400mg, and with half scoops, which is a full serving, would be more than enough for most people.

Synephrine (100mg)

Synephrine is typically used in fat burners and on it's own, it's quite weak.

But when it's combined with other stimulants, it works well.

Here it's combined with caffeine, and DMHA, but honestly we don't know if there's anything else in this formula.

Because some report to have energy for more than 10 hours at a time.

This leads us to believe there's more than what the label shares here.

DMHA (100mg)

Let's be honest...

We haven't seen DMHA dosed this low in ages.

At 100mg, it's a fairly low dose. Even though it's combined with 400mg caffeine, honestly it isn't much compared to other DMHA containing pre workouts.

Eleuthero Root Extract (100mg)

Eleuthero root extract is typically referred to as Siberian ginseng.

It isn't anything special and with this low of a dosage, there isn't really much to expect from it.

Niacin (30mg)

Do you know that flushing feeling you may get after drinking an energy drink or a pre workout?

That's the reaction of niacin.

Niacin is also known as vitamin b3, and it can have some good effects for the health like lowering "bad" cholesterol.

Proprietary Blend (5,550mg)

This blend consists of:

  • Agmatine
  • Hordenine
  • Beta Alanine
  • Taurine

Although these are nice ingredients, the total dosage for this blend is pretty low.

We don't know the dosages but at least agmatine is listed as the first ingredient, which should mean there is a gram or more of it in here.

And hordenine is probably not dosed higher than 100mg, hopefully.

If there's enough beta alanine in here, you should feel some tingles from it.

But it's unlikely to be dosed high enough as it's under hordenine.

Is Phenta Plex Really The Excelsior Replacement?

It's likely that this pre workout is living up to the hype that's led by TJ over at FitnessDealNews.

Phenta Plex contains 400mg caffeine, 100mg DMHA and a few other things, but even with these ingredients, it typically wouldn't provide that much energy for more than 4 hours at a time.

It's hard to believe that this pre workout with this label is providing people with more than 10 hours of energy and focus at a time.

That's unheard of, especially with this kind of a label with these small dosages.

But as we've seen with Excelsior, the weirder the label, the more likely it is to be a suspect of containing something extra.

So should you try this?

If you want be 100% safe and take risks; no probably not.

But if you're already in the market for a Excelsior replacement, then you may as well consider trying Phenta Plex.

But as always, measure your servings and do not exceed the recommended dosing.

Whatever else is inside is probably not tested for human consumption.
