Regular Hydrate and Hydrate Black share the same listed doses of calcium, magnesium, potassium, taurine, coconut water powder and SenActiv.

Hydrate Black changes two practical things: it adds 100 mg PurCaf caffeine and raises sodium from 500 mg to 1,000 mg. That makes Black more situational rather than automatically better.

Choose regular Hydrate when you only want hydration, train late or already use a high-stim pre-workout. Choose Black when you want to move part of your caffeine into the workout and the session is long, hot or sweat-heavy.

The Practical Differences

Choose by caffeine and sodium needs
Caffeine-free use Hydrate 0 mg caffeine
Late training Hydrate No stimulant
Sodium dose Hydrate Black 1,000 mg vs 500 mg
Intra-workout energy Hydrate Black 100 mg caffeine
Already using high-stim pre-workout Hydrate Avoids automatic caffeine stacking
Who Should Buy Which
There is no universal winner; the better choice depends on whether caffeine and the larger sodium dose are intentional.
Caffeine-Free
Hydrate
You only want hydration | You train late or avoid caffeine | You already use a stimulant pre-workout | You want more format and flavor flexibility | 500 mg sodium better matches the session
Energy + Sodium
Hydrate Black
You deliberately want 100 mg intra-workout caffeine | The session is long, hot or sweat-heavy | You want the 1,000 mg sodium dose | You reduced another caffeine source first | Two current flavors are enough
