RAD140: Use, Benefits and Side Effects of Testolone [2021 Guide]

By Nader Qudimat ·
Updated Jul 4, 2021

Rad 140 is believed to be able to increase testosterone.

It increases androgen activity in animals.

So it should be able to increase muscle mass in bodybuilders.

However, like any SARMSARM, there are risks and dangerous to taking Rad 140.

Not only is there no safety profile but the research is still ongoing and hasn't confirmed the facts yet.

RAD 140 is a research chemical that is being investigated for it's potential as being a testosterone replacement therapy option.

It's a SARM, selective androgen receptor modulator and in 2014, a study at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, used rats to find RAD140 to potentially be a safe replacement to TRT.

Although it's not illegal, it's banned in competitive sports by the WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency).

There's believed to be some potential behind RAD 140 for increasing muscle mass.

It's a experimental drug without any approval for human consumption, so there's no recommended or official dose.

It's designed to replace TRT but it isn't approved by the FDA and unofficially, it's made to help with low testosterone.

It's believed by users that RAD140 can increase muscle building, fat loss and physical performance.

It's similar to SR9009 but RAD140, similar to LGD4033, requires PCT.

How RAD-140 Works

RAD140 has a unique way of interacting with androgens within the body.

Compared to other SARMs, it's more elective as it doesn't interact with the usual steroid hormone receptors.

It binds to the receptors of androgen in bone and muscle.

It's thought that it doesn't interact with the androgen receptors in the prostate in breasts but anecdotal reviews contradicts this and there isn't any studies performed on humans to prove this.

It's also claimed that RAD-140 is a safer alternative to testosterone replacement therapy and steroids but again there isn't any studies to back this up.

Because it's a highly selective SARM, researchers are interested in the potential of RAD140.

Researchers are looking into and testing the potential for RAD-140 to potentially treat hormone related or muscle wasting disorders with little no side effects, but again this isn't proven and there isn't data to make these claims.

Because of this potential, RAD140 is of interest to bodybuilders as a replacement to steroids or testosterone.

Steroids and testosterone have side effects that occur on the prostate and reproductive organs but there isn't data to back up RAD140's safety or side effects.

What are the Benefits / Side Effects of RAD140?

Bodybuilders commonly believe that RAD140 is a safe side effect free replacement to steroids and testosterone.

But there isn't any human study to back this up.

Many use this to help improve their physical performance and shape.

But this use isn't research backed and is 100% anecdotal.

RAD140 is suppose to be able to function like testosterone but only activates the androgen receptors in muscles and not in organs like the prostate and breast.

Here's what RAD140 may have potential for:

  • Increasing muscle mass
  • Decreasing fat storage
  • Protect brain health
  • Researchers are looking into using this for some breast cancers

Here are the downsides:

  • Testosterone suppression
  • Accelerates hair loss
  • Causes lethargy and mood swings
  • Unknown safety profile
  • Side effects are not known
  • No approved dosage or usage

Usage in Bodybuilding

Because RAD140 is a popular choice for muscle building, bodybuilders are experimenting with this research chemical.

Like all SARMs, it doesn't have any data or studies so it isn't advised to use it.

The risks are unknown, the dosage is purely anacedotal.

While it's popular to be known as a steroid / testosteorne replacement without the side effects, some experiences and reviews contradict this belief.

The research behind RAD140 is ongoing to look into it's potential muscle building, and protecting brain health.

Although there isn't research backing up RAD140, bodybuilders still use these SARMs.

And it's important to note that it's on the banned list by the World Anti-Doping Agency.

Bodybuilders particularly like RAD140 over the other SARMs because it can target androgen receptors in the muscle, and not in the reproductive organs.

RAD140's structure is different than typical steroid hormones like testosterone, so it can't convert into estrogen.

Researchers have found RAD140 to turn on different proteins than testosterone, thus only allowing some androgen receptors, specifically in the muscles, being activated.

It's not uncommon to see RAD140 claimed to be one of the favorites of bodybuilders for bulking.

But again, some have noticed side effects that are uncommon and we advise against using this SARM as its safety profile is unknown.

RAD140 Dosage

The dosage for RAD140 is purely anecdotal.

There isn't a set dose for RAD140 and until we see research for a dosage, we can assume there isn't a safe dosage for this SARM.

Bodybuilding do claim to use a dosage of 10 to 30mg, and 5-10mg for women.

This lines up with the research that states the active dosage is at 0.01mg per kg (or 0.02mg per lb) as shown in the image below:

Here we can see researchers have found RAD140 to activate at dosages of 0.01mg per kg.

SARMs in general are dangerous.

There is little research on them and the side effects are mostly unknown.

Since experiences and risks can vary greatly between users, we recommend waiting until research is done before even considering using something like RAD140.

It's a pure research chemical.

Something that will most definitely work is Sapogenix

It's a superior form of Laxogenin and we already know Laxogenin can increase strength and size.

Sapogenix by Huge Nutrition is the best anabolic supplement you can get.

A 8 week cycle will easily help with putting on more size.

It's not uncommon to hear of users gaining anywhere from 5lbs to 10lbs within 2 months.

The image above shows that RAD140 is active when dosed at 0.01mg per kg as shown in the research here.

Most people recommend and use 10mg per day, but never exceeding 20mg per day.

And all of these dosages are based on other people's experiences, so they are anecdotal.

A cycle will generally last from 6 to 8 weeks.

And the half life of RAD140 is said to be around 16 hours.

RAD140 PCT

Like any SARM, it's recommended to take PCT.

When using RAD140, it may cause testosterone suppression, so a PCT will definitely be needed.

And it's advised to take an on-cycle supplement as well.

The best supplement you can get for post cycle therapy is Rebirth PCT

RAD140 will suppress hormones and you'll feel terrible after a cycle of it.

Best Alternative to RAD140

SARMs in general are dangerous.

There is little research on them and the side effects are mostly unknown.

Since experiences and risks can vary greatly between users, we recommend waiting until research is done before even considering using something like RAD140.

The upside to an natural anabolic like Sapogenix, it can be taken multiple times a year without the worry of the side effects that SARMs can bring.

What SARMs are Stacked With RAD140?

We can't stress enough that RAD140 is a research chemical with an unknown safety profile.

This is the case with all SARMs, so stacking RAD140 would increase the risk for side effects and dangers.

Users will often combine RAD140 with other SARMs, steroids, and / or prohormones

Usually the SARM will be ostarine, YK11 and a steroid like Primobolan.

Using RAD140 with cardarine will help with fat loss or endurance.

And combining it with ostarine is said to improve recovery.

Where to Get RAD140?

While RAD140 and all the other SARMs are considered to be research chemicals, they are still readily available online.

Remember though, this is a prohibited substance by the WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency).

You can get RAD140 from here (use discount code FITFREK).

They also carry other SARMs as well.

RAD140 Possible Replacement For Testosterone Therapy?

It's safe to say that this SARM is still being research for it's potential benefits.

RAD140 is unknown for it's safety and it certainly should be avoided until more research is done.

We recommend skipping this and going straight to something strong like Sapogenix, as it doesn't have the side effects that RAD140 has.
