Bottom Line

Chaos and Pain are known for their hardcore supplements, with high stim formulas and more, they are focused on serving stim junkies who need that adrenaline kick.

Ferox Amped is a monster pre-workout with lots of ingredients that help enhance strength, energy and focus through different pathways.

Don't just take our word for it, look at the monster formula below and try to find something comparable.

The price tag is a little high but the premium patent ingredients make up for it.

CHECK IT OUT

Ferox AMPed is a monster of formula but it's a complete pre-workout.

If you've seen Chaos and Pain before, then you'll know their pre-workouts are the kind that pushes the limits of stimulants

This pre-workout is interesting and you've probably never seen half the ingredients in here.

It does the most and for that, it comes with a price tag that's a little higher than your average pre-workout.

In this article we'll break down the ingredient label, dig into my review and you'll find out if Ferox AMPed is something you should try.

My Experience with Ferox AMPed

Looking at the label, Ferox AMPed looks like a pre-workout that would put me in survival mode.

I don't know about you, but the last pre-workout that had this much caffeine without even other stimulants, I felt it was hard to catch my breath in-between big compound lifts.

But Ferox AMPed is a little different and it's interesting because there are so much exotic stimulants in here.

The first 10 minutes of taking Ferox AMPed, I already feel a nice increase in energy but it's nothing dramatic.

It doesn't cause jitters or anxiety.

There is just a build-up of warmth, mood, and energy, up until the 30-minute mark where it peaks and remains elevated for hours on end.

When I get to the gym, I'm feeling at the top of my game and this shows when I'm warming up and building up to my working sets.

I'm so tuned into the workout and the fullness kicks in from the nitric oxide boosters within a few minutes.

In fact, Ferox AMPed is really a two-in-one, with premium blood-enhancing pump-inducing ingredients, I think this makes it worth the high price tag.

Not to mention Ferox AMPed is just a really good pre-workout for energy, and pumps and it's difficult to stop the workout as there aren't any signs of fatigue.

There also isn't heart racing jitter feeling, just a really good flow of energy and focus.

Ingredients

One quick look at the formula and you'll notice there are a lot of patented ingredients.

In fact, there are 6 fully dosed patented ingredients along with 15 other ingredients.

Ferox AMPed wasted no space on ineffective compounds.

Chaos and Pain ensured this formula attacks every angle for nitric oxide boosting, strength building and performance enhancing ingredients.

Citrulline Malate (8g)

Everyone loves the pumps and that's why there's citrulline in here.

It's what will increase nitric oxide production which is beneficial for health and bodybuilding.

Not only can increasing N.O. reduce blood pressure and heart rate, but it can also reduce soreness and improve recovery. [1, 2, 3

By improving vasodilation, Ferox Amped can improve oxygen uptake and nutrient delivery while being more efficient at reducing cellular metabolic waste.

Citrulline can also reduce muscle breakdown so you'll be more on the anabolic side while reducing catabolism. [4

Also, since Ferox AMPed contains citrulline malate means you'll get benefits from malic acid as it can increase cellular aerobic respiration which can help cells power through tough workouts.

Creatine Monohydrate (3.5g)

Creatine is one of the most studied compounds in the supplement industry.

There's no doubt that this is one of the most effective, yet safest when it comes to muscle gains and strength.

Creatine works by increasing ATP production, meaning you'll be getting more cellular energy, which is beneficial throughout the entire body.

Not only can creatine increase power and muscle mass, but it can also improve hydration, reduce fatigue, and can increase testosterone levels. [5, 6, 7, 8, 9]

It's no secret that creatine is basically the best supplement to take, whether you're a natural lifter or not.

There's also research supporting it for improving overall well-being. [10]

Ferox AMPed has just creatine at 3.5g, as it's recommended to take 3-5g per day.

Beta Alanine (3.2g)

Ferox AMPed already has citrulline, an ingredient that can increase endurance.

But when it's combined with beta-alanine, it gets even better because this is the ultimate endurance enhancer.

The reason for this is that it can combine with L-histidine to increase carnosine, leading to its ability to buffer lactic acid in muscle tissue, increasing endurance. [11, 12]

Beta-alanine can increase endurance for any exercise lasting between 30 seconds to 10 minutes as found in many studies and meta-analyses. [13]

There's a 3.2g dose of beta-alanine in Ferox AMPed along with citrulline, caffeine, and other stimulants that will certainly help sustain your effort throughout your workouts.

And this is the full clinical dose, so Chaos and Pain knows what they are doing here.

HydroPrime (2.5g)

HydroPrime comes from NNM, the same company that creates the strongest patented forms of ingredients like MitoBurn, CaloriBurn, GlucoVantage, and more.

If you've ever had a pre-workout clump up, it's almost always because of glycerol.

The reason for this is glycerol can absorb water like no tomorrow.

But thankfully there's a better form of glycerol that seems to reduce clumping in powders but is way more effective than the plain, regular form.

HydroPrime has the same benefits as glycerol but without the downsides.

Glycerol can increase hyperhydration, meaning your body will maintain a higher level of hydration.

When you have glycerol, it enters the system and is distributed throughout the body. [14]

Increasing water retention in the body has benefits not only for muscle pumps but also for thermoregulation, muscular endurance, cardiovascular efficiency, and hydration.

Ferox AMPed has a solid 2.5g dose here, and it's going to help by enhancing performance and maintaining hydration levels.

Arugula NitroRocket (1g)

If you like pump supplements, then you'd know nitrates are where it's at.

Arugula extract is found to have 10% nitrates, which is even higher than beets, spinach, or celery.

NitroRocket ensures that you're getting a high-quality source of arugula extract to help support vascular effects by increasing nitric oxide levels through the nitrate-nitrite-nitric oxide pathway. [15]

With high doses, you'll get better blood flow, better oxygen uptake, and improved strength through force and power production. [16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21

There's also improved cellular energy and better recovery time.

This ingredient is still new but it's showing a lot of promise, so Chaos and Pain are not only combining arugula with citrulline but Ferox AMPed also has HydroMax as well.

Taurine (1g)

Speaking of pumps, here we have taurine, a highly underrated endurance booster that isn't used enough in pre-workouts.

Like Glycerol, taurine can increase water retention in cells and increase osmotic swelling. [22]

This can help increase energy throughout the body while protecting the mitochondria from stress. [23

The upside to taurine is that it can be used and the effects are near instant as it works right away. [24]

Consuming taurine will help increase endurance, especially when the doses are between 1-6 grams, and in Ferox AMPed, we have a solid gram dose here.

BioCreat FenuGreek (900mg)

Ferox AMPed brings another new patented ingredient and that's Biocreat.

This is a high-quality extract that standardizes trigonelline content from fenugreek, which is found to increase the bioavailability of creatine in muscle cells.

Surprisingly enough, it's found to have the same benefits as creatine but without the need for sugar. [25]

It's also found to increase muscle strength and lean muscle mass and outperforms creatine after 4 weeks. [26

While this is still a new patented ingredient that needs more research, there is still creatine monohydrate in Ferox AMPed in case that this ingredient alone isn't enough.

L-Tyrosine (750mg)

Tyrosine is one of the biggest game changers when it comes to maximizing motivation.

The reason for this is that tyrosine can increase the production of important neurotransmitters that play a part in feeling good and focused.

Neurotransmitters like dopamine, adrenaline, and noradrenaline are created with the help of tyrosine. [27]

Dopamine is a neurotransmitter that will help you feel good, and it'll help with handling stress.

In research, tyrosine has been seen to improve cognition performance in stressful situations. [28]

Another reason why tyrosine is good is that it supports thyroid function.

It's a precursor to the body's main thyroid hormones (T3) triiodothyronine and (T4) thyroxine. [29,
30]

With hard exercise and dieting, stress hormones can downregulate thyroid metabolism, which makes it very useful to have tyrosine as a pre-workout. [31, 32

Alpha GPC (600mg)

When it comes to nootropics, there isn't a better form of choline than Alpha GPC, at least for bodybuilding.

Choline is an essential B vitamin that cell membranes use and sends signals between cells. [33]

Choline is a must when it comes to acetylcholine production, a neurotransmitter that supports learning and memory. [34]

Increasing choline production means improving cognitive functions. [35, 36

NeuroPEA (500mg)

Eria jarensis is an ingredient that creates some feel-good vibes.

It does this by releasing dopamine which can improve mood.

And it works even better when it's combined with other stimulants.

Ferox AMPed has it combined with 400mg DMHA, along with the other stimulants.

500mg of NeuroPEA, a patented form of eria jarensis, is not a small dose at all!

Caffeine (450mg)

Caffeine is the grandfather of energy in pre-workouts

Without it, there simply isn't a solid foundation for stimulants.

With this stimulant, Ferox AMPed has gone all out with the hefty 400mg dose here.

Ferox AMPed also has other forms of caffeine here including 100mg caffeine malate, and 100mg theophylline (a metabolite of caffeine).

Not to mention the other exotic stimulants in here.

Caffeine, especially when it's dosed around 400mg, has been noted to significantly increase strength. [37, 38

Zynamite PX (420mg)

Zynamite is one of the newer designer-patented ingredients that bring promise to the supplement world.

This is an extract that comes from Mangifera, a mango tree.

The bioactive constituents in Zynamite are able to cross the blood-brain barrier, which allows them to be active in the central nervous system where they upregulate long-term potentiation (LTP), a system that's responsbile for learning and formation of memory. [39, 40]

Zynamite has been marketed to replace caffeine as it can increase alertness and energy but where it shines is when it's combined with caffeine.

The issue with this ingredient though is that it's expensive and there seem to be better alternative ingredients to increase focus and mood.

English Walnut Extract (DMHA, 400mg)

DMHA is a milder and smoother stimulant than its cousin DMAA

This ingredient comes from English walnut extract.

On its own, you won't feel much.

But it shines when it's combined with other stimulants, especially caffeine, and even better with eria jarensis

Here we have a big dose of 400mg.

It's usually dosed between 200-300mg.

Mucuna Pruriens (150mg)

Mucuna pruriens is packed with levodopa, L-Dopa, a very useful dopamine precursor. [41]

This ingredient is full of compounds that support healthy levels of inflammation and balanced levels of oxidation. [42]

It also has positive effects on healthy metabolic function. [42]

Levodopa is able to produce more dopamine as it's able to cross the blood-brain barrier. [43]

Another ability of mucuna is that it can inhibit acetylcholinesterase, the enzyme that breaks down acetylcholine. [44]

Combining an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor like mucuna with Alpha GPC can increase acetylcholine production, you're getting much more acetylcholine and prolonging its effects.

Since it can prevent acetylcholine production and increase dopamine, research has shown it has neuroprotection properties. [44, 45]

Di-Caffeine Malate (100mg)

Caffeine malate is the slower-digesting form of caffeine.

You'll be getting a nice steady flow of energy with this form, as well as the faster-digesting form above.

With multiple forms of stimulants, the energy will come in at different rates so it won't hit you all at once.

Epicatechin (100mg)

In Ferox AMPed, we have a nice 100mg dose of epicatechin, an ingredient that's found in dark chocolate, tea, and more.

Epicatechin is one of the many flavonoids found in cocoa beans, and it's the most interesting for athletic purposes. [46, 47]

This ingredient has many benefits, including promoting healthy cholesterol levels, and blood pressure and even helping with skin elasticity.

The main benefit that is beneficial for bodybuilding is that it can inhibit myostatin, an enzyme that regulates and potentially slows down muscle growth. [48

Epicatechin can also promote better pumps through nitric oxide production.

So having this in Ferox AMPed will not only help with muscle growth but also with pumps through better vasodilation and inhibiting myostatin.

Theophylline Anhydrous (100mg)

Like caffeine, theophylline is a methylxanthine.

It'll work well in synergy with Ferox AMPed's formula of stimulants that includes caffeine and DMHA.

The ingredient itself is a natural metabolite of caffeine but it has a much longer half-life. [49

Similar to caffeine malate, this stimulant will provide a longer-lasting source of energy.

CocoaBurn (100mg)

CocoaBurn is standardized to 50% cocoa alkaloids by weight, and it's a cocoa extract with a high absorption rate.

One of the powerhouse alkaloids is theobromine, and it can reduce appetite, promote higher energy levels, promote thermogenesis, and even help with better mood. [50, 51]

It comes as no surprise that theobromine can improve energy levels since its structure looks like caffeine with its functions.

This ingredient and epicatechin can improve mood, and it can also promote neuroprotection. [52]

Yohimbine HCL (3mg)

Yohimbine is a strong alkaloid coming from Yohimbe bark, an alpha-2 adrenergic receptor antagonist.

Yohimbine can stimulate the sympathetic nervous system, which will then help promote increased thermogenesis as well as appetite reduction. [53, 54

It does this by increasing the amount of noradrenaline floating in your blood by reducing the enzymes that inhibit noradrenaline production. [55]

Noradrenaline functions similarly to adrenaline, so expect some vasoconstriction and more alertness. [56]

Since Ferox AMPed already contains other stimulants, this will just add to the energy that's supplied from multiple sources.

Alpha Yohimbine (2mg)

We've already broken down Yohimbine above but this version is actually supposed to be stronger and better.

Just without the side effects.

Alpha yohimbine is an alpha-antagonist, which can also reduce appetite, promote thermogenesis and increase focus. [57, 58, 59]

Many people, including myself, have taken Ferox AMPed and haven't noticed anything negative from the Yohimbine side of it.

However, there are still some people who are sensitive to yohimbine and won't tolerate it well.

Otherwise, if you think you can handle it, it's worth the benefits that it has for thermogenesis. [60]

Huperzine A 1% (200mcg)

Ferox AMPed already has Alpha GPC, a choline-based ingredient that can increase acetylcholine production.

Huperzine A can slow down the breakdown of acetylcholine by inhibiting acetylcholinesterase, an enzyme that works by breaking down acetylcholine. [61]

By doing this, acetylcholine levels will be higher and this promotes better cognition function and enhanced neuroprotection. [62

The minimum dose of this is 100mcg, so Chaos and Pain put more than enough at 200mcg.

AMP Up Your Training With Ferox

Chaos and Pain took it a step up with Ferox AMPed.

Instead of going with your traditional stim-junkie formula with high stim and minimal performance enhancers, they've gone with both high stim and premium performance enhancers.

But it comes with a high price tag.

It's broken the regular $59.99 premium pricing for pre-workouts and has entered the market at $69.99, making it one of the first to do so.

They do have a minimal version, Cannibal Pre, and their basic Ferox pre-workout, both of which contain far fewer ingredients than Ferox AMPed.

If you want something that has the latest ingredients with premium patented forms, then Ferox AMPed is the choice to go with.

But if you just want something to increase your performance without the high price tag, then their other pre-workouts may be the better choice.
